Calibration:1. After batteries are replaced, the display will show "CAL" icon and sixteen N, which indicates the calibration mode.
2. Lay the compass flat with the face pointing upward, Press the compass button-it will show a direction degree on the LED, then press and hold the compass button for four seconds-the display will show "CAL" again. At this time, slowly turn the device one full circle, which allows the electronic bearing senor to seek the magnetic north. After turning one full circle press the compass button, the display will now show the correct direction degree. If the above process is not completed within a minute the compass will revert and the entire process must be re-done.
3. If you need to re-calibrate during use, press and hold the compass button for four seconds, then follow steps one and two. DO NOT remove the batteries.
To Attach Compass Using Carabiner:1. Push in lower portion of carabiner to attach it to strap or clothing.
2. NOTE: Compass carabiner is only strong enough to hold compass, do not hang other object from carabiner.
